It's ideal if you're staying at one of the nearby glamping spots - Beechen Glamping or Wallops Wood are both within easy reach - and you fancy a bit of a wander with a bit of purpose. Not a lengthy stop, mind you. Most people will have seen what there is to see in 15 to 20 minutes. If you're into ecclesiastical architecture, the proportions are pleasant enough, and the building works well as part of a broader walk around the area.

The real draw, honestly, is using it as a quiet interlude between other things rather than making it a destination in itself. Park the car, stretch your legs, duck inside if the door's open. The Southampton area has enough going on that you won't feel like the day's been wasted if St Barnabas turns out to be closed when you arrive.
