The water at Springwood Haven Marina sits calm most mornings, ringed by trees that catch the light properly when you arrive early. It's a working marina near Atherstone - boats come and go, people potter about with ropes and fenders, and there's genuine activity rather than the manicured stillness of some leisure spots. The whole setup feels like it belongs to actual water enthusiasts rather than tourists, which is either brilliant or a bit awkward depending on what you're after.

You can walk the perimeter easily enough, watch the narrowboats, maybe grab a coffee if there's a cafe open - though I'd ring ahead first as facilities aren't always obvious. It's the sort of place that works beautifully as a break during a longer walk rather than a destination in itself.
