The sculptures scattered across this Shropshire site are properly impressive - bold, contemporary pieces set against rolling countryside just outside Oswestry. You're walking through open fields encountering everything from abstract steel forms to more figurative works, each one commanding attention in a way gallery walls never quite manage. The whole thing's quite spread out, so allow a good couple of hours if you want to see everything without rushing.

It works brilliantly for families with older kids and anyone who actually enjoys art without needing it explained. Younger children might lose interest after the first thirty minutes, though they'll get a kick out of clambering around some of the more accessible pieces. If you're into contemporary sculpture or just fancy a different kind of walk, it's worth the detour from Oswestry town centre.

The real strength here is how the pieces interact with the landscape rather than compete with it. A few stand out - there's a scale and ambition to some installations that makes you stop and properly look. Others feel a bit self-conscious, truth be told, but that's sculpture parks for you.

Stay at Fairhaven Camping and Glamping just down the road - it's exceptionally rated and gives you a proper base for exploring the area. Sweeney Farm's also close by if you want glamping without being too far out. The park works well as a half-day activity alongside whatever else you're doing in Shropshire, though it's best visited when the light's good.
