The building itself is nothing to write home about architecturally, but once you're inside it opens up reasonably well with decent natural light and a decent collection spread across multiple floors.

For families, it's genuinely useful - there's a children's section with the usual picture books and early readers, plus regular story times and activities that make it worth a visit if you're based nearby. If you're a reader after something specific, the catalogue's decent without being extraordinary. The Wi-Fi works, there are study spaces if you need to park yourself for a few hours, and the extended weekday hours (staying open until 8pm) mean it's actually accessible for people who work. Weekends get busier but it's not rammed.

There's a café-ish area where you can grab a drink, which is the civilised touch. Admission's free, obviously. It's not a destination attraction - you're not travelling across London specifically for it - but if you're staying at Lovat Parks nearby and fancy a quiet hour or need to pick up a book for the holiday, it's convenient and unpretentious.
