Seafield Fairy Garden

A small nature reserve tucked away near Christchurch that's more intimate than showy. Seafield Fairy Garden is essentially a woodland walk with ponds and open glades - the sort of place where you might spot a dragonfly or hear a woodpecker if you're lucky. It's free to access and takes about 45 minutes to an hour to wander round properly without rushing.

The appeal here is straightforward: it's proper woodland with water features, which means birdwatchers and quiet types will genuinely enjoy it. Young children like the fairy garden aspect, though honestly it's fairly low-key rather than an elaborate attraction with signs and themed installations. Expect muddy paths, especially after rain, and bring binoculars if you're into that sort of thing.

It works well as a morning stop if you're staying at Hoburne Naish Holiday Park down the road - only five miles away - since it's close enough not to eat into a day's plans, but rewarding enough to justify the detour. The reserve connects you to proper Hampshire woodland without needing to trek for hours. Go during quieter weekday times if you want any chance of seeing wildlife; weekends can feel a bit busier than the space deserves.

Not a standalone destination unless you're genuinely interested in nature reserves, but a solid addition to a park holiday in the area. The Christchurch location means it's well-placed for exploring the wider South East coast too.
