It's the kind of place locals pass without thinking twice, but if you're camping at one of the nearby parks - Fairway Holiday Park is practically on the doorstep - it's worth a quick visit.

The church itself is unremarkable from the outside, but step through the doors and you get a sense of how Sandown developed from a modest seaside settlement into a proper Victorian resort. The interior has that particular atmosphere of island churches - a mix of genuine Victorian craftsmanship and the slightly faded grandeur you find across the Isle of Wight. Nothing here will keep you for hours, but it's a ten-minute walk from the seafront and the town centre, so easy to slot in while you're grabbing a coffee or lunch.

Access should be straightforward during daylight hours, though opening times aren't always posted clearly. If you're based at Isle of Wight Coastal Park or Landguard Camping and Caravan Park, it's a brief walk or short drive into town. Families won't get much out of it unless the kids are interested in Victorian architecture, but if you're the type who likes to get a feel for a place beyond the amusement arcades and beach huts, it's worth five minutes of your time. Don't plan a special trip, but don't skip it either.
