The fields are open and generous, fenced securely, which means nervous owners can finally relax while their dogs burn off some energy.

It's brilliant if you're staying at Linwater Caravan Park and have a dog in tow. You won't spend hours here - realistically, thirty minutes to an hour of throwing a ball around, watching your spaniel discover a mud patch, that sort of thing - but it's the kind of place that makes a dog holiday genuinely pleasant rather than a compromise. No fancy facilities, no café, no adventure playground to keep kids entertained while you're supervising Fido. This is purely for the dog crowd.

Getting here from the caravan park is straightforward, and the location works well if you're splitting time between the parks and exploring the Lothian area. The fields tend to be quieter mid-week, which is worth knowing if your dog gets anxious around other animals. Bring bags. Always bring bags.
