Ruined Bridge

Stone arches crumble into the river valley like broken teeth. If you're into that sort of thing, genuinely fascinating. If you want dramatic ruins and Instagram moments, you'll leave disappointed.

This works best as part of a wider ramble through Devon's river valleys. Park up nearby Plymouth and combine it with walks along the Plym Valley - the setting's lovely in that understated English way rather than showy. Bring proper footwear; the banks get muddy and the stones are slippery.
