Teenagers often surprise you by getting genuinely engaged. Admission isn't free but it's reasonable, and the café is decent enough if you need a break. The location - while technically in the Portsmouth area - makes sense as a day trip if you're based near London. Lovat Parks sits just 1.2 miles away, which means you could visit the museum on a rainy afternoon, then get back to the holiday park for evening activities. It's not a casual stroll-through attraction. You need some genuine interest in either military history or the Royal Marines themselves to justify the trip. But if that's your thing, it's comprehensive and respectfully done.
