The playground at Riverside Park is bang in the middle of Ballymoney, right by the water where the Bann River flows through town. It's a solid spot if you've got children in tow - decent equipment, proper open space, and the river running alongside keeps things interesting beyond just the swings and climbing frames.

You're looking at maybe an hour here with young kids, depending on their age and energy levels. The setting is peaceful rather than chaotic, which makes a change from some urban playgrounds. Parents can actually stand and watch without feeling like they're in the middle of a screaming free-for-all. The riverside path itself is worth a wander before or after - gives you a bit of breathing room.

Since it's free and right in town, it works perfectly as a break if you're staying at Thornfield Farm Luxury Glamping Pods over near the Dark Hedges. That's only five miles away, so you could easily pop in during a day exploring the Causeway Coast and Glens area. It's not a destination in itself - you won't drive an hour to get here - but if you're based nearby, it's exactly the kind of low-key, no-fuss facility that keeps family holidays moving smoothly. The sort of place you'll appreciate more in retrospect than when you're actually there.
