Riddlesworth Dog Park gives dogs proper space to run about and burn off energy - the sort of place where your spaniel or terrier can actually have a proper play rather than just a lap round a concrete square.

It's straightforward stuff: open ground, room for dogs to chase and socialise. Not fancy, not trying to be anything other than what it is. The real win is that it's a proper break in the journey if you're based at Arthur's Retreat just down the road - five minutes' drive and your dog's had a decent workout before you carry on exploring Norfolk or Suffolk.

Walkers will find it useful too. Even without a dog in tow, it's a spot to stop and stretch your legs. Diss itself is close by if you need supplies or a coffee afterwards.

The honest bit: it's not a destination in itself. You're not driving across three counties for it. But if you're staying locally with a dog, it does exactly what you need it to do.
