There's no grand arch or visitor centre, just a simple stone or marker that tells you exactly where you are geographically and historically speaking.

Historically-minded walkers get the most from it. You're standing at a genuine point of demarcation, and if you're into maps and boundaries and the sort of thing that makes England's geography actually make sense, you'll find it satisfying. It takes about ten minutes to visit properly, maybe twenty if you've got kids who want photos and explanations.

The real value here is as a stop on a wider walk around Cambridge. You're only two to three miles from Cherry Hinton or the Camping and Caravanning Club sites, so it slots nicely into an afternoon's ramble. Pair it with a proper canal walk or a cycle ride through the Fens - this works as a talking point rather than a destination in itself.

Admission is free. Check opening hours locally, though a roadside marker doesn't really have restricted hours - you can have a look whenever you're passing. It's the kind of spot worth a minor detour if you're in the area, but don't drive twenty miles specially. It's a decent addition to a walking holiday, nothing more.
