Ransoms Recreational Park

The River Hiz runs through this 22-acre nature reserve on Hitchin's eastern edge, and it's the sort of place locals know about but visitors often miss. You'll find yourself walking through woodland with the river meandering alongside - proper tranquil, especially midweek when you might have the paths to yourself.

It's a working recreational space rather than a polished attraction.
