Queen Anne sits quietly in Minehead, a proper little gallery that doesn't announce itself loudly but rewards a visit if you're spending time in this Somerset seaside town. It's a small space, the kind where you can see what's on offer in under an hour, focusing on art and local work rather than the grand touring exhibitions you'd expect from a major city venue.

The gallery works best for anyone who enjoys contemporary or local art - painters, sculptors, people with an actual interest in what's being shown rather than checking boxes. It's not somewhere to drag reluctant teenagers or use as a rainy-day dumping ground. That said, if you're based at Butlins Minehead or the Minehead Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite and you fancy a quiet morning before hitting the seafront or heading out walking on Exmoor, it fills an hour nicely.

Minehead itself is the real draw - the Victorian seafront, the coastal path walks towards the cliffs, the pier. The gallery slots in as a secondary stop rather than the main event. Hoburne Blue Anchor and Warren Bay are both within easy striking distance if you're doing a broader holiday in the area, though neither venue is particularly close to town itself.
