An aquarium in Keighley isn't what you'd expect in the Pennine foothills, yet here Poseidon's Palace sits, offering a proper dose of underwater life without the drive to the coast. The setup is straightforward - tanks of fish, the usual suspects you'd find in a family aquarium, nothing fancy but decent enough for a wet afternoon when the Yorkshire weather turns grim.

Kids will get a kick out of it for an hour or so, especially younger ones who haven't yet tired of pointing at tropical fish. The appeal fades quickly for teenagers, if we're honest. It's the sort of place you'd visit if you're camped at Bronte Country Park just down the road and need an indoor activity, not somewhere you'd plan a trip around.

Keighley itself has more interesting stops if you're keen on industrial heritage or the Brontë connection, but Poseidon's fills a gap on a rainy day.
