The promenade at Portrush West Strand is one of those places that makes you understand why people moved here in the first place. A long stretch of golden sand backed by a proper nature reserve, it's the kind of spot where you can walk for miles without feeling rushed. The dunes behind the beach are thick with marram grass and coastal plants - nothing dramatically rare, but genuinely wild in its own unshowy way.
