The woodland around Market Rasen has real character - Pickering's Wood is the sort of place locals know well but visitors often miss entirely. Family groups will find it manageable - kids can burn off energy on the trails without anyone getting too knackered. History buffs probably won't find much to hold their attention beyond the trees themselves, but if you're after somewhere to clear your head between attractions, it's ideal. The nearest proper touring bases are Lindsey Trail (2.3 miles away) and Into the Wild Glamping (2.4 miles), both excellent if you're planning a longer stay.
