About Peacehaven Cliffs

The cliffs at Peacehaven rise white and sudden from the shingle beach, a proper dramatic stretch of Sussex coastline that catches you off guard if you're coming from Newhaven. They're not towering - nothing like the Seven Sisters further west - but they've got character. Walk along the seafront and you'll find yourself on chalky undercliff with decent views across the Channel on clear days, and the whole thing feels refreshingly underdeveloped compared to nearby Brighton.

What you actually do here is walk. There's no visitor centre, no attractions crammed in. You park up, stretch your legs, and either head east towards the Peacehaven cliffs proper or west back towards Newhaven. The beach is shingle, so proper walking boots make sense. Families with younger kids might find an hour satisfying; serious walkers will want to link this into the longer coastal path and push further. The cliffs themselves aren't a scramble - you're admiring them from below, not climbing them.

Best visited on a decent day, obviously. Wind can absolutely howl through here in winter. The nearest town is Newhaven, which has cafes and a proper working harbour if you want to make a half-day of it.

If you're staying at Three Ponds Holiday Park just 2.2 miles away, or one of the other sites nearby, Peacehaven cliffs work as a morning walk before heading elsewhere. It won't consume your day, but it's a solid bit of coastline and worth the detour if you're in the area.
