Beverley's got a proper cinema, which sounds obvious until you realise how many market towns don't anymore. Parkway Cinema is the sort of place where you can catch the latest releases without driving halfway across Yorkshire. It's straightforward - modern multiplex setup with decent screens and the usual popcorn markup that cinemas trade on.

The real value here is for families staying at one of the nearby parks like Butt Farm or Manor Farm Camping. Rainy afternoon? Kids bored of the caravan? This gets you out of the weather for two hours without breaking the bank. You'll get the standard film selection - blockbusters, family stuff, occasional indie releases if you're lucky.

I'd call it essential infrastructure rather than a destination in itself. Check their website for what's actually on and ticket prices before you plan around it - opening hours aren't listed anywhere, which is a bit frustrating. Going in the daytime showings tends to be quieter if you've got younger kids easily startled by volume. The Beverley area's got enough going on - the town centre itself has proper character, and there are decent walks nearby - so the cinema slots in as a backup plan rather than the main event. But that's exactly what you need when you're based at a holiday park for a week and the weather turns.
