Park Copse

A proper woodland walk through mixed forest - the sort of place where you actually need to pay attention to where you're stepping rather than just strolling along a manicured path. Park Copse sits on the edge of Pewsey and offers decent woodland coverage with enough mature trees to make you forget the surrounding farmland exists for a bit.

The main draw is straightforward: you get woodland trails through beech and oak, the kind of trees that actually look ancient rather than plantation-planted. It's fine for a solid hour's walk, maybe longer if you're keen on spotting woodland birds or just sitting quietly on a log. Kids will have a reasonable time - fallen branches to clamber over, undergrowth to poke about in - though there's nothing specifically tailored to keep them entertained if they lose interest quickly.

Walkers will get the most from it. The ground can be muddy depending on recent weather, so proper boots are worth it rather than trainers. The terrain isn't challenging, just the standard up-and-down of English woodland. There's no obvious visitor infrastructure - no car park signage I'm aware of, no café - so this is self-sufficient walking rather than an attraction with amenities.

If you're staying at Park Farm Campsite or Totteridge Farm nearby, it's the sort of place worth a morning or afternoon slot to stretch your legs, but don't expect it to be a full day's activity. It works best as part of a broader Pewsey Vale exploration rather than a destination in itself.
