Parham Brake

Parham Brake is a proper woodland walk near Dursley, the sort of place that rewards you with decent views over the Gloucestershire countryside if you're willing to get your boots muddy. It's a forest, so expect dense trees, winding paths, and the occasional moment where you lose sight of civilisation entirely - which is rather the point.

The walk itself takes a couple of hours depending on which route you take. Paths vary from well-trodden to a bit boggy in winter, so check conditions if you're going after rain. You could easily combine Parham Brake with other local walks or a trip into Dursley itself for lunch.
