Walking through Oxenber Wood feels like stumbling into someone's secret. The forest sits just outside Lancaster, and it's the sort of place where you can actually hear yourself think - no gift shops, no visitor centre, just proper woodland doing what it does best. Ancient trees crowd the paths, light filters through in that particular way that makes everything feel quieter than it probably is.
