Olympiad is Chippenham's public swimming pool, and if you're staying at one of the caravan sites within a couple of miles - Plough Lane, Roe Deer Fields, or The Moors - it's a convenient rainy-day option when the Wiltshire weather turns. The facility itself is fairly standard leisure centre fare: indoor pool, changing facilities, the usual chlorine smell. Kids will get an afternoon's worth of splashing about, and lap swimmers can actually get some proper lengths in if you time it right and avoid school holidays.

The real draw here isn't the pool itself but its location close to Chippenham town centre. You're not making a pilgrimage for this. It's more a practical stop if you're caravan-based nearby and need to tire the children out or squeeze in some exercise between countryside walks. Opening hours and admission prices aren't particularly transparent online, so ring ahead before you go - nothing worse than turning up with excited kids only to find it's closed for maintenance.

If you're planning a week around the Chippenham area, combine this with actual outdoors activities. Blackland Lakes five miles out is worth the drive for something more scenic, and the Cotswold Water Park is within striking distance if you want proper water-based days out. Olympiad works as a practical backup plan, not a destination in itself.
