Norfolk Alpacas

This is a working alpaca farm where you get genuinely close to the animals - feeding them, brushing them, taking photos of their ridiculous faces. They're curious, calm, and weirdly affectionate creatures. It's the sort of place where you'll spend longer than planned because the alpacas keep demanding your attention.

Families with younger kids absolutely thrive here. There's something about hand-feeding an alpaca that beats most high-street attractions, and you don't need any prior experience. Adults find it properly relaxing - honestly, it's hard to feel stressed around animals this gentle. If you're not into animals, though, don't force it. An hour covers the main experience comfortably, and it's very weather-dependent.

It sits perfectly into a Norfolk park holiday. Norwich is only a few miles away, so if you're based at Woodland Holiday Park or Two Mills Touring Park, it's an easy morning outing before heading to the broader Norfolk attractions. Deer's Mead is slightly further out but still reasonable for combining with other activities.

Go when it's not raining - alpacas are fine in light weather, but neither you nor they particularly enjoy heavy downpours. Summer weekends get busy, so a weekday visit is more relaxed if you can manage it. Ring ahead to check opening times and whether you need to book in advance.
