The ruins of New Mill sit quietly on the outskirts of Blairgowrie, a scattered collection of stone foundations that whisper rather than shout about their past. This is what remains of a 16th-century mill - likely a grain mill given the locality - and it's the sort of place that rewards a slow walk around rather than a quick snap for Instagram.

You won't find much in the way of interpretation boards or visitor facilities here. This is archaeology in the raw: weathered stone, overgrown corners, the kind of site where you genuinely need to use your imagination to picture how it once functioned. The setting itself is pleasant enough, with views across the Perthshire countryside, but it's not going to hold most people's attention for more than twenty minutes or so.
