New Century Park

The walk in at New Century Park near Honiton takes you through proper Devon countryside - rolling fields that slope away to reveal glimpses of what's actually a working nature reserve. It's not a manicured park with neat paths and signage at every turn; it feels more like you're wandering through someone's land who happens to care about wildlife.

What draws people here is the genuine habitat restoration work happening on the ground. You'll find wetland areas, woodland sections, and grassland all in various stages of recovery. Birdwatchers do well out of it - the conditions attract a decent range of species, particularly during migration seasons. The walking trails loop through without being overly demanding, so it suits families with primary-age kids and older walkers equally.
