Mendlesham Green Pond

The pond sits right in the middle of Mendlesham village, about four miles southwest of Eye, and it's the sort of place that rewards a quiet morning walk rather than a scheduled visit. The water is ringed by trees and open green space, which means you get proper views across the village and plenty of room to sit about without feeling crowded. Photography types might find the reflections worth capturing on a still morning, though it's not dramatic landscape stuff. This isn't a destination in itself. It's what you do on the way to somewhere else, or when you want fifteen minutes of proper village England without fuss.
