This 710-metre peak stands above Appin with views that stretch across to the islands if the weather cooperates - which, let's be honest, isn't guaranteed in Argyll. The walk up takes roughly two hours from the nearest car park, following a well-worn path that climbs steadily through moorland and low vegetation. It's not technically demanding, but the exposed ridge demands respect, especially when the wind picks up, which it often does.

Walkers will find this one thoroughly rewarding. The summit itself is modest - no dramatic stone cairn, just an ordinary trig point - but the view west across Loch Creran towards the Appin hills makes the grunt worthwhile. Families with teenagers and keen hikers will get proper value here. Younger children might struggle with the sustained climb and loose footing on the descent.

There's no visitor infrastructure at the top, so come prepared with water and something to eat. Early morning starts tend to mean clearer views and fewer people on the path. Allow a full three hours return if you're not a rapid pace walker, more if you're enjoying the ridgeline.
