Mayesbrook Park

Mayesbrook Park sits on the eastern edge of London, a proper working nature reserve rather than a manicured municipal garden. The reserve is free and open most daylight hours, though it's worth checking conditions after heavy rain - paths can get boggy. Spring and early summer are best, when the birds are nesting and the place comes alive. Winter's fine if you want solitude.
