About Long Hills
What you're really doing here is walking. Miles of it, if you fancy. The sand's firm enough for decent strides, and at low tide you can explore rock pools tucked into the base of those cliffs. Kids will occupy themselves for a solid hour turning over stones. The water's cold (it's Norfolk, after all) but swimnable in summer.
Locals drift here on quieter days, usually with a dog and a thermos. It's not the sort of place you'd build a whole day around unless you're genuinely into coastal rambling - getting to Long Hills from Fakenham takes a bit of doing. But if you're staying at Pinewoods Holiday Park, it's only a few miles away and makes for a proper change of pace from the park itself.
Go when the weather's decent and bring something waterproof anyway. Allow two to three hours if you want to walk properly. The cliffs themselves aren't particularly dramatic - Norfolk doesn't do dramatic - but there's something honest about the place. No ice creams stands, no amusement arcades. Just beach.
