Loch a' Choire

The walk in to Loch a' Choire takes you through some proper wild Scottish scenery, about forty minutes on foot from the Durness area. It's a freshwater loch surrounded by moorland and low hills - nothing dramatic, but that's rather the point. The water sits in a quiet valley, and on a calm day the reflection is genuinely lovely. Allow two hours return from the nearest parking, and bring waterproofs because the weather can turn quickly up here.
