Larkins Brewery

The brewery sits just outside Edenbridge in proper Kent countryside, and it's the kind of place that rewards a proper visit rather than a quick Instagram stop. Larkins has been brewing here since 1986, and you can taste the difference - their ales have won serious awards without any of the craft-beer pretension that puts people off.

You'll find a working brewery where they actually let you see what's happening. The tour takes you through the brewing process, explains the grains and hops, and crucially, ends with tastings of their core range. Their Traditional is a solid bitter, but the Hop Pocket really shows what they're about - it's got character without being showy.

It's ideal for serious ale drinkers and curious types who want to understand how beer actually gets made. Families with older kids won't find it boring, though little ones will struggle with the pace. Allow a couple of hours if you're doing the full experience.

Being just outside Edenbridge, it fits perfectly into a caravan or glamping trip - Luna Domes Luxury Glamping is barely twenty minutes away, and Apple Acres is close enough for an evening visit without the drive feeling like a chore. The brewery shop stocks bottles to take back to your pitch, which saves you hunting round local shops.

Check their website for tour times before you head out - they're not a drop-in attraction, so you'll need to book. Worth the extra effort though.
