If you're staying at Hewn Yorkshire just down the road, this makes a natural morning or late afternoon circuit rather than a full-day outing. Better to combine it with a walk into Richmond itself or a proper hike across Swaledale. Worth the detour if you're already in the area, but don't rearrange your trip around it.
