The brewery sits just outside Bushmills, and it's a proper working operation rather than a polished visitor centre with a gift shop queue. You can actually see the craft going on - the tanks, the bottling line, the whole setup that turns ingredients into something drinkable.

Lacada brews small-batch beers with a focus on local flavours, and if you time it right you'll get a tour where the team explain what they're doing and why. The tasting room is no-frills but genuine - you're drinking where the makers drink, not in some themed bar pretending to be authentic. Their pale ales and stouts are solid stuff, the kind you'd honestly order again rather than just buy because it's local.

It works brilliantly alongside a Causeway Coast trip. If you're staying at Causeway Country Pods nearby, you're ten minutes away from the brewery and twenty from the actual Giant's Causeway. Pop in for an hour, grab a tour if they're running one, taste what they've got on, maybe take a bottle back to your accommodation. It's not a half-day activity - don't expect that - but it slots perfectly into an afternoon between coastal walks and whatever else you're doing on the Glens side of things.

Check their website before you go for opening hours and whether they've got group bookings running. Families with older teens will get more from it than young kids, but if anyone in your party actually cares about beer, they'll find it worthwhile.
