Head out from Perth towards the Kintillo area and you'll find yourself at a proper working football pitch that doubles as a nature reserve - a rare combination that speaks to how Scotland manages its green spaces. The site itself is modest: a functional pitch used by local teams, but the real draw is the reserve status that protects the surrounding habitat. It's the sort of place where you might spot roe deer if you're lucky, or at least get a sense of the Perthshire countryside without the crowds.

Walkers get more from this than most. The pitch sits within easier reach of some decent countryside routes, and if you're based at Perth Caravan Park or the five-star Maycroft Retreat a few miles away, it makes a decent half-morning wander rather than a destination in itself. Don't come expecting facilities or interpretation boards - this isn't a formal visitor attraction with car parks and cafes. Come because you want to see how a working sports facility can coexist with wildlife protection, or because you're exploring the less touristy side of Perthshire.

Access appears to be free, though you should respect that it's an active pitch during match days. Best visited outside football season, really. Allow an hour if you're walking the perimeter and poking about.
