Kinpurney Hill

The walk up Kinpurney Hill rewards you with one of the cleanest views in Perthshire - and honestly, it's a cracker. From Blairgowrie you're looking at a straightforward pull up moorland that doesn't require serious scrambling or technical kit, just decent legs and reasonable weather. The summit sits at a decent height without being punishing, and on a clear day you'll see across to the Cairngorms and down toward Strathmore. Allow a couple of hours for the round trip if you're not rushing.

It's proper hillwalking country, not a park stroll. Families with older kids (eight plus) and proper walkers will get the most from it. The terrain is open heather and grassland - bog-standard Tayside walking, which means boots rather than trainers and a check of the forecast. There's nothing fancy waiting at the top: no café, no visitor centre, just silence and space and views that stretch. That's rather the point.

If you're basing yourself at Five Roads Caravan Park just down the road, you could knock this out as a half-day without breaking a sweat. It slots neatly into a broader Perthshire hillwalking week - you're well-placed for bigger mountains if you fancy them, but Kinpurney works as a standalone if the weather's iffy elsewhere.
