It's ideal for families with younger kids who need a straightforward outdoor space without the pressure of a major attraction. Walkers will find the loop manageable - an hour round trip at a relaxed pace. If you're based at one of the nearby holiday parks, Braddicks or Owl Valley are close enough for a half-morning visit without the fuss of a proper day out. Bring a packed lunch if you want to sit by the water; there's nowhere obvious to buy food on site.

The reality is that Kenwith works best as a break rather than a destination. Go on a quiet weekday morning when the light's decent and you might have it to yourself. Weekends can draw dog walkers and local joggers, which takes the edge off the tranquility. Access appears to be free, though facilities are minimal - there's no visitor centre or cafe that I could find. Winter can make it damp and muddy underfoot. Worth the detour if you're exploring the Bideford area and want something low-key, but don't rearrange your holiday around it.
