This is more of a quick stop than a destination in itself, mind you. It works best if you're already in the area or combining it with other reasons to be east of London. The Lee Valley Camping and Caravan Park down in Edmonton, or the Sewardstone site if you're after something slightly smaller, both give you a base from which to explore this corner of Essex. Neither park is brilliant - the Edmonton location gets middling reviews - but they're functional.

Go early morning if you want decent light for photos, or late afternoon when the angles change. There's no charge to see it, which is the only sensible arrangement for something this public. Worth an hour of your time if you're within striking distance, but don't make a special trip just for this alone.
