The Jubilee Memorial Grounds sit just a short walk from Seaton's seafront, a proper little nature reserve that most visitors to the Devon coast completely miss. It's not flashy - no visitor centre, no café, just wild green space with paths that wind through trees and open meadows where you'll actually spot birds rather than just hearing them from a distance.

What makes it worth a detour is the peace. Once you're past the entrance, the coastal noise drops away completely. Naturalists love it here - the mix of woodland and scrubland attracts migrants in spring and autumn. Dog walkers get a safe space off the main roads, and kids find it genuinely interesting because there's actual wildlife to look for rather than manicured flower beds.

The paths are manageable for all fitness levels, though they can get muddy after rain. Allow an hour if you're dawdling with binoculars, half that if you're just stretching your legs. Admission appears to be free, which frankly feels like the area's best-kept secret given how many holiday parks are clustered nearby - Beer Head is barely a quarter mile away.
