It's not a massive attraction, mind you. Most people spend 30 to 45 minutes here, which fits perfectly if you're already visiting the bridge itself - and you should be. The real appeal is the intimacy of it. Standing in that cramped cottage, looking out at the bridge, you get a tangible connection to the Industrial Revolution that no grand museum can quite manage. History buffs will appreciate the detail; families with younger kids might find it a bit tight and slow-paced after the initial novelty.

Coalbrookdale is the hub here, and you're spoilt for related sites - the Museum of the Gorge is nearby, along with various ironworks sites. If you're camping at Irongorge Camping just down the road, you could easily visit this in a morning and still have time for the broader attractions. The tollhouse works best as part of a wider day exploring the gorge, rather than a standalone stop. Worth 45 minutes of your time, but don't make it your main event.
