Football fans will know this one - Edgar Street's proper name is actually Holmer Park, home to Hereford FC since their reformation in 2014. The ground sits on the northern edge of Hereford city centre, a stone's throw from the railway station and easily walkable from the cathedral quarter. Standing on the terraces here feels properly authentic, none of your sanitised modern stadium nonsense. The Len Weston Stand runs along one side, while the famous Blackfriars End still echoes with memories of that goal against Newcastle back in 1972. On matchdays, the atmosphere is cracking - supporters genuinely care about their phoenix club rising from the ashes of the old Hereford United. Between August and May, you'll catch league games most Saturdays, with the occasional midweek fixture under floodlights. Non-league football might not be everyone's cup of tea, but there's something special about watching football at this level where you can actually hear the players shouting.
