This isn't some theme park approximation; it's the actual filming location where seven films worth of wizardry were shot, and the sets remain standing at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour. You walk through the grand hall, see Dumbledore's office, wander the corridors where scenes were filmed. The castle itself is a working studio set, meticulously preserved, and honestly it's quite something to stand where the actors stood.

You'll need a good three to four hours minimum, longer if you're the type to read every placard and stand in the Great Hall trying to spot continuity errors. Families with teenagers tend to get the most from it - younger kids might find the scale overwhelming, and adults without any connection to the films could find it a bit thin on actual content. It's paid entry, and not cheap, but the studio tour includes more than just the castle: costume departments, potion bottles, the bridge set, all of it.

If you're basing yourself at one of the nearby parks like North Hill Farm or Home Farm Glamping, you're about forty minutes from the studio. Watford itself is your nearest town for supplies and decent food. Go on a weekday if you can manage it - weekends get rammed with school groups and die-hard fans, and the whole thing becomes a bit of a cattle market.
