Highbury Stadium is Fleetwood Town FC's home ground, a proper working football club rather than a museum piece. The 5,000-capacity ground sits right on the edge of Fleetwood town centre, and even if you're not catching a match, there's something appealing about a genuine community football stadium - no corporate sheen, just genuine fans and the smell of the terraces.

Football fans will obviously get the most from a matchday visit, but even non-supporters might find the stadium worth a look if you're spending time in the area. The setting's decent enough - you're right by the seafront amenities that Fleetwood offers. Admission depends entirely on whether there's a match on; you'll need to check their fixture list for specific opening times and entry fees.

If you're based at one of the nearby holiday parks - Broadwater or Haven Cala Gran are both within walking distance - then catching a Fleetwood Town game could be a decent evening out. The stadium's small enough that you get proper atmosphere without the intimidating scale of a major ground. Arrive early on matchday to soak up the pre-game buzz around the town.

Non-matchday visits are trickier. There's no dedicated stadium tour that I'm aware of, so you're really here if there's football on. Check ahead before you travel - it'd be disappointing to make the trip only to find the ground locked up. That said, if timing works out, it's a genuine taste of English grassroots football, which beats any manufactured attraction.
