The Helix Park Pavilion sits at the heart of a sprawling nature reserve in Clackmannanshire, a proper slice of the Scottish Lowlands that doesn't get nearly enough footfall. The pavilion itself is a modern structure - all clean lines and glass - that serves as the hub for exploring the wider reserve. Inside you'll find information about local wildlife and walking routes, plus a decent café if you've timed it right.

Walkers will get the most from this place. The reserve loops out from the pavilion with trails ranging from gentle riverside strolls to proper woodland hikes, and the paths are well-marked throughout. Birdwatchers should bring binoculars - there's genuine variety here, especially in spring and autumn. Kids won't be bored either, though they'll need to be the sort who enjoy spotting things rather than bouncing on equipment.

The pavilion itself is free to enter and browse, though donations are encouraged.
