Hagrid's sidecar

The motorbike and sidecar that Hagrid actually rode in the Harry Potter films sits just outside Watford, and yes, it's genuinely brilliant to see in person. It's parked at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour, so you can't miss it - a proper massive machine with that unmistakable weathered look. The thing is enormous up close, much bigger than you'd expect from watching the films, and the detail work is genuinely impressive when you're standing right next to it.

You'll want to allow at least ten minutes to have a proper look and take photos, though honestly you could spend longer if you're any kind of Potter fan. Kids lose their minds over it - there's something about seeing a real prop from the films that just hits different from watching it on screen. Adults tend to linger longer, examining the metalwork and trying to work out how they got it to actually move in the scenes.

It's free to view as part of the Studio Tour experience, and Watford's only about twenty minutes away if you're staying in the wider area. Combine this with the full tour of the studio sets and you've got a solid day sorted. If you're basing yourself at Frogmore Park Homes nearby, it's easily reachable for a half or full day trip. The Studio Tour runs most days, though hours vary seasonally, so check ahead before you head over. Well worth the detour if you've got any Potter enthusiasm in the household.
