Green Hill

The walk up Green Hill rewards you with proper views across Perthshire - on a clear day you can see all the way to the Ochil Hills. It's a straightforward climb from Kinross, nothing too brutal, maybe forty minutes if you're moving at a decent pace. The summit itself isn't dramatic - no trig point, no cairn, just open moorland and the satisfaction of being up there. Walkers will get the most from this one. It's the kind of place where you actually notice the light changing as clouds roll across the landscape, and the heather underfoot smells like Scotland should. Coming in autumn is proper lovely when the colours shift. The walk works perfectly if you're based at one of the nearby glamping spots - Greenhill Farm is just down the road, literally half a mile away, so you could easily knock this out before breakfast without having to drive anywhere. It's free to walk, naturally, and there's no particular time restriction. Allow two to three hours if you want to take it slow and actually enjoy the views rather than just bag the summit and head back down. This isn't a destination attraction in itself - think of it as the cherry on top of a Perthshire park holiday, the kind of walk you do between proper activities rather than the main event. But on a good day, standing up there with nothing but moorland stretching out, it's exactly what a Scottish hill walk should be.
