Graves Park Pavilion

The pavilion at Graves Park is the hub of what's actually quite a substantial sports facility just outside Dronfield. It's a proper functioning venue rather than a tourist attraction - tennis courts, bowling green, and enough space to watch a match with a drink in hand. The building itself won't win any architecture prizes, but that's rather the point. This is where locals come to play, not where visitors usually end up taking photos.

That said, if you're camping nearby - and there's Riverside Valley and Fox Hagg Farm within striking distance - and you've got teenagers or keen sportspeople in tow, it's worth knowing about. The park grounds are pleasant for a wander even if you're not here to play. On a decent day, it's a decent spot to kill an hour between other activities, though don't expect manicured gardens or anything grand.

The real draw is whether you want to actually get involved. If someone in your group fancies a game of tennis or bowls, this is the place to sort it. Otherwise, you're looking at a functional community space that happens to sit within decent parkland. It's the kind of thing you'd stumble across while exploring the area rather than plan a trip around. Rother Valley Country Park, a few miles further on, offers considerably more in terms of leisure facilities and scenery if you're after something more obviously geared to visitors.
