Graham Taylor Statue

There's a bronze statue of Graham Taylor standing in Watford, and if you're staying at one of the caravan parks nearby - Frogmore Park Homes or Wyatts Covert - it's worth a quick detour into town to pay your respects. Taylor managed Watford Football Club for over a decade and turned them from a second-division side into genuine contenders. The statue captures him mid-gesture, arms spread wide in that characteristic way he'd direct play from the touchline.

Unless you're a serious football history buff or a Watford supporter, you won't spend long here. It's really a photo stop rather than a destination in itself - fifteen minutes at most, unless you want to sit and reflect on what the man achieved. The surrounding town centre has decent enough shops and cafes if you make an afternoon of it, but the statue itself is the draw.

Football fans will absolutely get it. There's something moving about seeing a manager immortalised this way, especially one who actually cared about a town rather than just passing through.
