Folk camping at Wyming Brook Farm - easily the top-rated site in the area - can reach it in under ten minutes. Fox Hagg Farm, just outside Sheffield proper, is similarly close. Neither location commits you to a day trip to the Peak District, which means you could split your time between proper walking and Sheffield's cultural offerings without feeling like you're wasting the better weather.
