Forth Bridges Contact and Education Centre

You can see the Forth Bridges from almost anywhere in this corner of Fife, but the Contact and Education Centre actually lets you understand what you're looking at. It's housed right where the three bridges meet the north shore, near Dunfermline, and the scale of them only hits you properly when you're standing beneath them.

The centre focuses on the engineering and history of all three crossings - the Victorian railway bridge, the 1960s road bridge, and the newer cable-stayed bridge opened in 2017. There are interactive displays that explain how they work, which is genuinely fascinating if you've ever wondered how engineers solved the problem of spanning the Forth.
